Our MDs
Kent Aftergut, MD

Kent Aftergut, MD is board certified in Dermatology by the American Academy of Dermatology and a native Texan. He is currently a Clinical Instructor of Dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern Department of Dermatology, teaching the residents at Parkland Hospital on Friday afternoons. He also currently serves as the vice president of Dallas Dermatologic Society and will become president of this organization starting in 2009.
Dr. Aftergut graduated magna cum laude from the University of Texas. He attended the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas where graduated with honors and membership in Alpha Omega Alpha, an honorary medical society. Dr. Aftergut then completed an internship in internal medicine at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, prior to completing his residency in Dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern Department of Dermatology.
Dr. Aftergut's professional interests include infectious disease, psoriasis, skin cancer detection and treatment, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Aftergut was part of a team of local dermatologists that discovered the first nine reported cases of a rare infection called leishmaniasis acquired in North Texas.
Dornechia George Carter, MD

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Dornechia George Carter, MD, is now proud to call the Dallas-Fort Worth area home. She is a board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Carter completed her undergraduate education at Cornell University, earning a dual degree in Human Development, and Human Biology, Health, & Society. She attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine, in Houston, TX as a Diversity Scholar. Following internship at The Methodist Hospital, she completed her training at BCM as the first African- American resident in the department of Dermatology. Dr. Carter has publications in various medical journals, and she has been a presenter at meetings of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Texas Dermatological Society. She has also volunteered as a speaker and mentor for the Cream City Medical Society Health Careers Mentorship Program, a program designed to encourage high school students to enter health care fields. Additionally, she was the featured speaker for the "Loving the Skin You're In" seminar Milwaukee, WI. Her scope of practice encompasses medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, with a special interest in psoriasis, skin of color, and skin cancer prevention, detection, and treatment.
Our Physician Assistants
Bethany Grubb, MPAS, PA-C

Bethany Grubb, MPAS, PA-C, is a graduate of Baylor University and the PA program at UTSW. She completed her masters degree (University of Nebraska) and a fellowship program in dermatology at UTSW. She currently serves as the Immediate Past President of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. Bethany enjoys giving lectures to Physician Assistant students, and she is leading a team that is writing a web-based educational curriculum for dermatology physician assistants.
Lynn Hay, MMS, PA-C

Lynn Hay, MMS, PA-C is a dermatology trained physician assistant. She attended physician assistant school at St. Louis University graduating with a Masters in Medical Science. She completed her undergraduate degree at St Louis university earning a bachelors in Occupational Therapy. A native of Dallas, she is a local graduate of Ursuline Academy of Dallas. Lynn is currently a member of the Society for Dermatology Physician Assistants. Her clinical interests include psoriasis and skin cancers.
