Dr. Kent Aftergut
A board-certified dermatologist and native Texan, Dr. Kent Aftergut owns and operates Dermatology Consultants of North Dallas and Dermatology Associates of Uptown in Cedar Hill. He is a former Clinical Instructor of Dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern Department of Dermatology teaching the residents at Parkland Hospital for nine years, and served as president and vice president of the Dallas Dermatologic Society. Dr. Aftergut has routinely been named a top dermatologist by D Magazine in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016. He’s been featured on CNN, in the New York Times, the Associated Press and Dallas Morning News, to name a few.
Dr. Aftergut graduated magna cum laude from the University of Texas. He attended the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas where he graduated with honors and membership in the honorary medical society, Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Aftergut completed an internship in internal medicine at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas prior to completing his residency in Dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern Department of Dermatology.
Dr. Aftergut’s professional interests include infectious diseases, psoriasis, eczema and rashes, skin cancer screenings, detection and treatment, and surgical and cosmetic dermatology.
Dr. Molly Burns Austin
A board-certified dermatologist and Dallas native, Dr. Molly Austin, prides herself on the quality attention she provides to each patient. With special interests in acne, rashes, thorough skin cancer detection examinations and non-invasive cosmetic procedures, Dr. Austin’s full scope of skin care expertise encompasses medical, surgical, cosmetic and pediatric dermatology.
Dr. Austin received her Medical Doctorate from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, where she graduated in Alpha Omega Alpha, an honorary medical society. She completed her internship in internal medicine at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas and her residency in Dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. Dr. Austin was elected by her peers as one of D Magazine’s Best Dermatologists in 2016.
Dr. Austin is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, Texas Dermatological Society, American Society of Lasers in Medicine, and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons. She enjoys public speaking and has given lectures to various Dallas social groups on a wide variety of topics ranging from pediatric dermatology and acne to cosmetics and sun protection.
Our Physician Assistants
Bethany Grubb, MPAS, PA-C
Bethany Grubb, MPAS, PA-C, is a graduate of Baylor University and the PA program at UTSW. She completed her masters degree (University of Nebraska) and a fellowship program in dermatology at UTSW. She currently serves as the Immediate Past President of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. Bethany enjoys giving lectures to Physician Assistant students, and she is leading a team that is writing a web-based educational curriculum for dermatology physician assistants.
Joe Capasso, PA-C
Joseph Capasso was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, completing his high school education at Cistercian Preparatory School. He graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelors degree in anthropology, and completed his physician assistant studies at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He is an adjunct faculty member of the Physician Assistant program at UTSW, where he enjoys lecturing and serves as preceptor for students. He is also a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
